About the region

Kashmir a region that was ruled by multiple Muslims dynasties, predominately the Mughal empire for over 700 years until the British empire took over in the 19th century.

Cities and regions don’t come much more beautiful than Mirpur Azad Kashmir- known as the Lake Como of Azad Kashmir. Nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas on the banks of Mangla dam and located on the rivers Jhelum and Poonch.

The region is known for its stunning scenic beauty, Islamic Mughal history, its brave but peaceful people, its hospitality, fantastic foods, big houses, village life and Mirpur city. The region is where many British Kashmiris can trace their roots back too.

Across the River from Mirpur are the cities of Dadyal and Chaksawari, which continue to grow, attracting a crowd in search of more space for their money and more stunning scenic beauty.
